It was quiet over the holidays, but I've been probed a lot over the past few days.

Pretty much the same in the other galaxies. Andromeda in fairly even in terms of player numbers with Fornax and Gemini at the moment, though I can't get a count of the inactives or v-mode players at the moment.

player count havent dropped significantly and is still above 4000
for raiding/looting,.. i only pick on players rank between 1800 and 2500 (higher ranked players tend to be smarter at fleetsaving and/or defence building, while lower ranked do not posses the mines or storage facilities to worth looting or they may be still under protection) anyways,.. the point i'm trying to make is that i've never run out of victims, there's a constant flow of players moving out of my focus range, or deleted for inactivity, and there's a constant supply of players emerging out of newbie protection. so it seems that, atleast from the supply of new players point of view, that the server is very much alive, which probably explains why the total server population haven't falledn significantly in the recent months,..
but,.. players beyond the ~2500rank tend to have less than 5k points (under protection) it does mean that about half of the server population is filled with boring newbies,... many higher level players could be darkmatter buyers (once or continuous) and the inactives/vacations among them will never be deleted; thus the current population count of 4260 is very misleading; and that the actual purposeful players are as few as 1000
then comes the new year and holidays,.. many of these players come online just to fleetsave some may be too preoccupied to spy, raid or blow up other players,..

Well actually being the Holidays I have come across some more "Inactive" Active accounts, so I have got a bit of loot. One reason I might have noticed less action is my recent Mining/Turtling up a bt so maybe my increased defences have put me off range of some of those probey players. As well as I havent had a big fleet for anyone to come chasing me (tho it is building up suprisingly well through expeditions alone).

I got probed 28 times a couple days ago. I have 7 planets, so 4 people were looking to see whether I was worth attacking. Andromeda definitely isn't dead.
