The alliance "The Republic Of Planets, aka TROP" is seeking an alliance with our own group. The request was submitted by their leader, Alistair40000.
Very small group just starting out it would seem. They say that THC has allied with them, as well as some alliance called Aurora Legion, another small fry group.
They currently have seven members, and their rank hovers around 430. None are out of n-mode yet.
Personally I see no inherent advantages or disadvantages to allying with them, especially if THC has already done so. If they survive, they may be open to trade, but on the other hand they could turn into another gone-in-a-week farm colony.

here are the advantages/disadvantages i can see of allying with TROP
advantages: 1. since THC is allied with TROP i highly doubt our lower ranked members would be able to attack TROP members due to our alliance with THC 2. they can help with lower ranked members 3. if they fall apart, surviving members could be integrated into either our or THC alliance 4. they look to be more active then some mebers of this alliance
disadvantages: 1. 7 or so less members for our alliance (members in lower ends) won't be able to attack

I say give them a chance They are situated in gal 1, very close to each other. Most of our lower ranked members could benefit from trading opportunities. Of course, our trading rates apply. As Dominion already stated, we could adopt their active members in case their alliance fall apart. You can offer them my help with resources.

I agree with Markas. I don't see a significant advantage or a significant disadvantage here. I also say "give them a chance".

The THC is allied to them and they have the same values as us. They are a friendly bunch and really where is the downside? No powerful alliance will fight them cause they are to weak and due to us being their allys nobody than can attack them will.

I Haven't got anything really to add. Maybe an Idea is to have a Non-Attack treaty with them to start with since they are allied to THC anyway, then see how it goes after a couple weeks.
On a side note, thinking about alliances, How does this work. If THC are already allied to them, and we want to attack them. I think if our Alliance with THC is strong, there should be consultation within the respective alliance leaderships before either side adopts new ally's.
I think the Proper steps for adopting more ally's might be worth considering if we plan to keep growing. For now a simple system like 1st going into a non-attack pact with prospective member before beginning discussions within the current Alliances before deciding to accept new members fully into the Greater alliance.
