Vocaloid kind of creeps me out, but I have to admit it's pretty cool. Since anybody can make/produce Vocaloid songs and upload them, you have not even BEGUN to see the creepy stuff. Take the "Dark Woods Circus" string of songs made by one user: Song 1: Test Tube Princess. The singer is created. She looks human except for a flower-shaped scar over her left eye which she thinks is a constant reminder that she is a living sin against God. Song 2: Steel Cage Princess. The singer is kept in a prison she can't escape with no windows or clocks. She starts to go insane. Song 3: Knowledge of the Late, Madness. The singer is transferred to an asylum where the doctors experiment on the patients. Those who die are fed to a cannibalistic patient. The singer welcomes the time when they come for her, as she doesn't mind dying anymore. Song 4: Dark Woods Circus. The singer is deformed and sent with the other surviving patients to act in a circus freak show. Multiple times during the song she remarks how much fun the circus is, then at the end she begs the listener for death. Song 5: Blue Ice Castle. The singer is finally able to kill herself. Song 6: Red Swamp Bottom. Suicide is also a sin against God so she's sent to hell. Song 7: Guard and Sythe. Trapped in another torment she can't escape, she finds a way for her spirit to manifest in the living world again. She kills everyone in the Circus. For some it is punishment, while others like her are finally set free. During this song she remarks that even though she's crying and sobbing the sounds of death all around her and the swamp of blood she's creating are rather beautiful. Creepy, no? Edit: by the way: synthetic singers aren't an entirely new thing. Just look at the virtual band The Gorillaz. Edit 2: It appears the actor/singer Bruce Willis is NOT a Gorillaz fan. Which makes me lol. ;D
